Earn Credits Attending the Theatre in London This Winter Break!

If so, we have a wonderful course for you this J-term!
Come spend three weeks in London and explore Contemporary British Theatre! Youll get the chance to experience Londons theatre scenes and see firsthand their innovative presentation of stage performance.
In this three-credit course, youll gain a deeper understanding of the history of British theatre, the connection between politics and theatre, how race, class, and ethnicity have been historically represented on stage, and why London is one of the most celebrated theatre capitals in the world.
In-class lectures and discussions will be enhanced by stage performances and film screenings of famous works by notable writers and directors like John Osborne, Edward Bond, Caryl Churchill, and Sarah Kane. Youll also go on field trips to get immersed in the world of theatre, including guided tours of Shakespeares Globe and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Outside of academics, youll have plenty of time to explore the sites of London, including the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, London Bridge, Borough Market, and much more. When youre free on the weekends, you can hop on the train and spend a day in Brighton, Bath, or Edinburgh, too!
