Your 91�� Summer Intern and Study Abroad program in Prague lasts 6 weeks and features three key components: A part-time internship with an international organization (15-20 hours per week), an internship seminar, and a 3-credit academic course taught by 91�� faculty or online through 91��’s global academic partner, ASU. Enhance your experience with co-curricular and extracurricular activities while building career skills, expanding your professional network, and immersing yourself in Czech culture. Housing

CIEE Prague offers diverse housing options to ensure you're comfortable in your home away from home. All housing options are located in neighborhoods with convenient access to public transportation, shops, cafés, and eateries.   

Standard Housing: Includes double or triple accommodation in a dorm-style residence hall located within 45 minutes from Prague’s historic city center and 91�� Prague.

Residence Halls: Live in a dormitory-like building with communal kitchens and other common spaces.

Select Housing: Includes a double bedroom in a shared apartment located within 45 minutes from Prague’s historic center and 91�� Prague. Each apartment has shared common spaces, including a kitchen and bathroom. Apartments may be in student residence buildings or in residential buildings shared with local inhabitants. Select housing requires an additional fee.

Select Plus Housing: Includes a single bedroom in an apartment or dorm-style residence hall located within 45 minutes from Prague’s historic city center and 91�� Prague. Select Plus housing requires an additional fee and has limited availability.

A note: The default criterion to assign housing is first-come, first-served; however, other factors may also be considered. If we cannot accommodate your first housing choice, we'll let you know before you arrive. Non-standard housing options require an additional fee that can be found in the program Dates and Fees.

CIEE Prague: Study in the Vyšehrad neighborhood of Prague, situated in a beautiful park-like setting only 15 minutes from the city's famous Old Town Square. 91�� Prague features 10 classrooms, a student lounge, a student life office, a library, a study space, a café, and an outdoor space.

Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by 91�� in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 6-week sessions that fit within the 91�� academic calendar.

Academic Culture

CIEE offers a focused and immersive experience for students, blending rigorous coursework with hands-on learning opportunities to deepen understanding of both academic subjects and the local culture.

CIEE internship courses typically meet once a week, allowing students to concentrate on their internships, immerse themselves in the local professional culture, and explore their surroundings personally.

CIEE courses often incorporate local co-curricular activities, providing students with firsthand exposure to the rich cultural heritage and diverse landscapes. These experiences not only enhance academic learning but also foster a deeper appreciation and understanding of the local context.

Attendance is mandatory in 91�� courses, emphasizing the importance of active participation and engagement in the learning process.

Arizona State University: Most ASU online courses are asynchronous. You may find yourself in classes with students from ASU, other American universities, and students from around the world. You’ll receive direct and individualized support from faculty, 100% online.

Class Format

Students engage in a six-week 91�� part-time internship, completing 100-120 hours, along with a mandatory academic seminar featuring both in-person class sessions and online asynchronous work. Class sessions, co-curricular excursions, and work hours may be scheduled Monday through Friday, and attendance is strictly enforced for all. Instruction is supported and augmented online by 91��’s learning management system, Canvas.

ASU online courses meet in “sessions” that are 6-weeks long in the semester, and all work must be completed within the session dates regardless of when your other 91�� courses begin or end.

Grading

CIEE reports all final course grades to students’ home institutions using a U.S. letter grade equivalent scale of A-F. For 91��-administered courses, students’ grades are based on attendance, class engagement, homework, project work, presentations, and midterm and final examinations. Learning outcomes assessment is continuous through personal reflections, evaluation feedback, self-assessment, and requirements as set out in course syllabi. The embedded internship course will be assessed in assignments and activities, completion of 100-120 internship hours, and feedback from the internship supervisor.

ASU grading follows the same format and standards as ASU courses taught in-person. “Pass/fail” or “Audit” is not allowed for 91�� students.

Individual courses may have additional prerequisites; for 91�� courses, these are listed in the syllabi below. Students are responsible for having their own course approval conversations with their advisors. Your study abroad advisor and 91�� staff can help you understand your course options if you don't see a recommendation that fits your course needs.
