Your 91�� Semester Global Internship program in Copenhagen lasts 12 weeks and features three key components: A full-time internship with an international organization (30-40 hours per week), an internship seminar, and a 3-credit academic course taught online through 91��’s global academic partner, ASU. Housing & Meals

Housing

CIEE Copenhagen offers two different housing options to ensure you're comfortable in your home away from home. Housing options are located in neighborhoods with convenient access to efficient and green public transportation, shops, cafés, grocery stores, and anything you’d need to live like a true Copenhagener. 

Standard Housing: Includes a double room in a residence hall or a shared room in a shared apartment, within a 35-minute commute to 91�� Center.

Residence Halls: The double rooms are equipped with a kitchenette and an en-suite bathroom. Residence halls provide shared common spaces with a larger, communal kitchen, multiple study/hangout areas, and gym facilities.   
Shared Apartments: Apartments feature double and/or triple rooms, with shared living areas, bathrooms, and a full kitchen.

Select Housing: Includes a single room in a residence hall or a single room in a shared apartment, within a 35-minute commute to 91�� Center.

Residence Halls: The single rooms are equipped with a kitchenette and an en-suite bathroom. Residence halls provide shared common spaces with a larger, communal kitchen, multiple study/hangout areas, and gym facilities.  
Shared Apartments: Apartments feature single rooms, with shared living areas, bathrooms, and a full kitchen.

A note: The default criterion to assign housing is first-come, first-served; however, other factors may also be considered. If we cannot accommodate your first housing choice, we'll let you know before you arrive. Non-standard housing options require an additional fee that can be found in the program Dates and Fees.

Meals

Residence Hall and Shared Apartments: Meals are not included. Students prepare their own meals in their own kitchenette or the residence hall’s shared kitchen facilities. 91�� provides basic cooking utensils and cleaning supplies. There is also a wide range of restaurants and cafes located nearby.

CIEE Copenhagen: Study in the heart of Denmark's capital, roughly one block from the historic Rosenborg Castle in one direction and the iconic Round Tower in the other. 91�� Copenhagen boasts five classrooms, and a stunning study space overlooking the public square below, a student life office, and an academic advising.

Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by 91�� in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 7.5-week sessions that fit within the 91�� academic calendar.

On-Program Requirements

Academic Culture

CIEE courses are designed to follow U.S. academic culture and standards. The integrated academic course which correlates with the 12-week internship is taught primarily in-person or hybrid to complement the internship experience. Students are expected to dress and behave professionally throughout their internship and are subject to the agreed-upon internship protocols arranged by 91�� and the host organization.

Arizona State University: Most ASU online courses are asynchronous. You may find yourself in classes with students from ASU, other American universities, and students from around the world. You’ll receive direct and individualized support from faculty, 100% online.

Class Format

Students participate in a 12-week full-time in-person internship and required academic course taught in a hybrid learning environment, featuring both in-person class sessions and online asynchronous work designed to help students develop professional and intercultural competencies to complement their internship experience.

ASU online courses meet in “sessions” that are 7.5-weeks long in the semester, and all work must be completed within the session dates regardless of when your other 91�� courses begin or end.

Grading

The U.S. grading scale of A-F is used. Students are graded on the basis of in-class and online engagement, preparation, and specific assessments (such as project work, presentations, examinations, etc).

ASU grading follows the same format and standards as ASU courses taught in-person. “Pass/fail” or “Audit” is not allowed for 91�� students.

Individual courses may have additional prerequisites; for 91�� courses, these are listed in the syllabi below. Students are responsible for having their own course approval conversations with their advisors. Your study abroad advisor and 91�� staff can help you understand your course options if you don't see a recommendation that fits your course needs.
