Housing & Meals
Housing
CIEE M矇rida offers homestays or single accommodation in an apartment complex. Depending on housing profiles and availability, students may be placed in a double homestay occupancy with single or double rooms and shared bathrooms. All housing options畝re疹ocated in疸eighborhoods with convenient access to public眩ransportation,盎hops,畚af矇s, and eateries.胼
Standard Housing: Includes a single or double room in a homestay, giving students an insiders view of Mexican culture and a great opportunity to practice and enhance their Spanish skills. Homestays boast a private or shared bathroom, a desk, weekly laundry, Wi-Fi access, and a copy of the house keys. All homestays are relatively close to coffee shops, malls, commercial centers, ATMs, and restaurants, and within a 30- to 45-minute commute of 91做厙 M矇rida.
Select Plus Housing: Includes single accommodation in an apartment complex with a private kitchenette and bathroom. Housing is within a 30-minute commute of 91做厙 M矇rida.
A note: The default criterion to assign housing is first-come, first-served; however, other factors may also be considered. If we cannot accommodate your first housing choice, we'll let you know before you arrive. Non-standard housing options require an additional fee that can be found in the program Dates and Fees.
Meals
Homestays: Include two meals per day.涉lthough host families and students arrange their meal schedules, usually it is breakfast and dinner, and students are responsible for the remaining meal, either preparing it at home or eating in one of many restaurants and caf矇s throughout the city.特tudents staying for a full year are responsible for their meals during breaks between semesters.
Apartment complex: Meals are not included
Academics
CIEE M矇rida: Study in one of the M矇ridas most beautiful neighborhoods, Calle 47, which leads to the Gastronomical Corridor, full of cozy and amazing restaurants and bars to enjoy in the afternoons. 91做厙 Merida boasts five classrooms, a student lounge, and a shared student life and academic advising office.
Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by 91做厙 in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 7.5-week sessions that fit within the 91做厙 academic calendar.

- Courses are listed below by block and track; course list subject to change. Courses are in English unless otherwise noted. GI denotes courses that are offered at multiple 91做厙 locations.
- Use the Course Comparison Tools to compare classes offered across all Open Campus Block programs for each block:
- Mobile students studying for three blocks who wish to complete a lab course will be required to opt out of one course to remain within the program credit range.
- Many 91做厙 courses are available in multiple 91做厙 locations. To help ensure you are able to enroll in the courses you need, some courses may be facilitated as a Hybrid course by an instructor from a location that is separate from your own. In a Hybrid course, you will learn either face-to-face or online, depending on your location. However, regardless of your location, you will apply what you learn from the instructor and course materials in your location. Hybrid courses can be identified in the course list as those whose course codes end in 91做厙 open the syllabus to see the instruction location, if known.

Language Classes
- During course selection, students interested in a non-introductory Spanish language course will be instructed to take an online Spanish language assessment to determine their proficiency level. Enrollment will be finalized on-site and is based on assessment outcomes.
- Students may add the non-credit Survival Spanish course to their course load during the on-site orientation.
