Your Ecology + Sustainability program in Palma de Mallorca lasts a full semester and is designed for you to engage with the world's most pressing environmental challenges in a local context. You will enroll in a combination of sustainability- and discipline-focused 91 courses, host institution courses, and courses taught online through 91's global academic partner, ASU, to develop your understanding of the ecological, political, and social contexts of environmental sustainability in Palma. Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB): Established in 1978 and descended from Mallorcan universities dating back to the 15th century, the UIB is a public institution with 16,000 students specializing in 36 different majors. UIB is a university rooted in the culture and identity of the Balearic Islands and the Mediterranean, with a strong commitment to serving society, sustainability, and respecting the environment. The UIB Campus is four miles from downtown Palma, nestled in the foothills of the majestic Serra de Tramuntana mountains, a World Heritage Site. It is well connected to the center of Palma and 15 minutes away by metro.

Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by 91 in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 7.5-week sessions that fit within the 91 academic calendar.

To help you budget, keep in mind that students are responsible for the cost of international airfare, local transportation, books and supplies, visas, and personal expenses. In addition, your college or university may charge additional fees for study abroad, or may require you to receive a transcript via 91's School of Record, which carries an additional fee of $500.
