Overview
Shape your creativity and create a drama script while immersed in the timeless myths of ancient Athens.

As one of Europe’s oldest cities, Athens is home to nearly 5,000 years of history. From the Acropolis to the heart of the ancient Agora, this literary city serves as a rich backdrop for tapping into your creative voice and mastering the basics of storytelling. While immersed in the beauty of the Mediterranean, collaborate with fellow Global Navigators to craft a drama script you’ll perform live or on film!

Expert-led courses and writing exercises will help you organize your ideas clearly and logically. Delve into different genres and draw from firsthand experiences as you develop new writing techniques. Connect with local teens to gain a fresh outlook on creativity.

In Athens, walk the streets that once inspired ancient poets and philosophers. On excursions, witness archaeological sites and historically influential villages. During your Greek adventure, you’ll encounter a world where modern and ancient traditions collide while expanding your worldview and flexing your writing skills.

The Destination

Welcome to Athens, the cradle of Western civilization and the birthplace of some of the greatest literary and philosophical minds.

Athens is a city where history and myth intertwine. Where the epic tales of Homer and revolutionary ideas of Aristotle have long influenced generations of writers. Today, ancient ruins and vibrant neighborhoods stand in stark contrast.

In Monastiraki, the ruins of Hadrian’s Library will fill you with awe. Nearby, the Roman Agora, a city square funded by Julius Caesar during Roman rule, will transport you to another time. In Plaka, one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods, winding narrow streets and whitewashed houses create a picture-perfect backdrop at the foot of the Acropolis. Throughout the city, locals mingle at cozy cafes and trendy shops.

Get a taste of Greek xenia, the deeply rooted cultural tradition of hospitality and generosity. Eat your fill of Greek delicacies like baklava, a sweet and syrupy phyllo pastry and moussaka, a lasagna-like dish with layers of beef, tomato sauce and potatoes or eggplant. Get ready for Athens to be your muse!
